Family Stories: Parents talk about coping with the ups and downs
A Diagnosis Can Lead to Positive Steps Forward
Raquel and Anthony, parents of Sal, Ethan and Evan, recount their individual reactions to learning about their children's diagnoses of autism. While Anthony was devastated, Raquel viewed the diagnosis as a positive thing, as it would get her children the services they needed. Despite their differing initial views, Raquel and Anthony agree that it is imperative that they be supportive of one another, as none of their friends or family understands what they experience every day raising three children with autism.
